About Us
Slab Snax was born on the water — not in a boardroom. I’m an avid Wisconsin fisherman who’s been pouring and painting my own jigs for years. These aren’t just products to me — they’re the same jigs I fish with, field-tested, and trusted to put fish in the boat.
I never set out to start a business. Over the years, people would see me catching fish, ask what I was using, and I’d hand them a few jigs. That word-of-mouth is what turned Slab Snax into what it is today — a brand rooted in performance, not marketing.
Each jig is made in small batches by hand using a carefully selected proprietary lead alloy formulated to resist deformation and absorb impacts to rocks or big toothy fish. I’ve field-tested a wide range of hooks to select one that offers the ideal balance of stealth, strength, and sharp hook setting penetration — capable of handling aggressive strikes without sacrificing finesse.
The finish isn’t ordinary paint — it’s a flexible polymer coating engineered to resist chipping, fading, and cracking, even after repeated use.
And while they may not all look machine-perfect — with the occasional streak, run, or swirl — that’s exactly the point! In nature, nothing looks perfect. I believe those slight imperfections are what trigger fish to strike. That natural variation and vibrance is what gives these jigs their edge.
